On September 20, 2024, a group of 204 enthusiastic first-year students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.tech Agriculture Engineering and Food Technology, B.Sc (Hons.) & M.Sc. Food Sciences & technology, accompanied by coordinators, embarked on a journey to the 13th Agri Asia Exhibition held at the Helipad Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The purpose of the visit was to expose the students to the latest advancements and innovations in the field of agriculture, Food, Machinery and AI enabling them to gain valuable insights into the agricultural industry sector. The visit commenced at 11:30 AM when the bus departed from Ganpat University and arrived at the exhibition site at 12:30 PM. The Agri Asia Exhibition was nothing short of grandeur, featuring a diverse array of reputed and start-up agricultural companies showcasing their products and services. This exhibition is recognized as Asia's premier agricultural event, encompassing all facets of the agricultural industry.

The event attracted a multitude of stakeholders, including farmers from various regions of India, providing an excellent platform for networking and interaction with high-ranking officials, as well as exploring potential business and investment opportunities. Given the pivotal role of agriculture in India's economy, Agri Asia served as a comprehensive forum for international collaboration in agricultural technology. The Agri Asia Exhibition catered to a broad audience, including farmers, agricultural business professionals, agronomists, biotechnologists, government employees, and anyone interested in the advancement of agriculture. Over 210 companies and brands from India and abroad participated in this international exhibition, making it a hub for cutting-edge agricultural technology. The entire exhibition spanned across an expansive 15,000 square meters of the Helipad Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The exhibition featured a wide range of products, including fertilizers, irrigation equipment, dairy technologies, and various farm machinery.

During the visit, the students had the opportunity to explore numerous stalls and examine various products that are in high demand among farmers. They gained insights into the latest agricultural technologies and became familiar with the essential farm machinery used in land preparation, sowing, cultivation, plant protection, and harvesting. The coordinators provided valuable explanations about the significance of the showcased various products and machines, emphasizing how these would be integral to the students' learning experience throughout their current and upcoming semesters in the program. The students had an exceptional learning experience as they were introduced to a diverse range of agricultural products and food companies.

The enthusiasm among the students was palpable as they eagerly absorbed the wealth of knowledge imparted during their visit. The experience left them not just with a deeper understanding of companies and their products but also with a profound appreciation for the transformative potential of technology in agriculture and food sector. At approximately 5:00 PM, the students commenced their return journey to Ganpat University, filled with newfound knowledge and a deeper appreciation for the agricultural sector. The visit to the 13th Agri Asia Exhibition proved to be a productive experience, aligning with the institute’s commitment to providing practical exposure and industry insights to its students. This invaluable exposure is poised to significantly enrich their academic journey and equip them with practical insights that will prove highly beneficial in their coursework and real-world applications.
