Ph.D. Admission 2024
Ganpat University offers Ph. D. Program in the Faculty of Technology & Engineering, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Management, Faculty of Social Science & Humanities and Faculty of Computer Applications. The University offers Full-time and Part-Time Ph. D. Programmes. The admissions are scheduled in January and July every year and the announcement in the newspaper/website is also published. To encourage and help the meritorious students, the University provides different scholarships also.

Candidates who have completed 1-year/2-semester master's degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed OR equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.

A candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.

Eligibility criteria for Marine Professionals for enrolment in Ph.D. program:
The marine professionals having any of the following educational qualifications will also be considered eligible for enrolment in PhD program in Ganpat University.
- Mariners having MEO Class I Certificate qualifications and 2 years of teaching experience at degree level as faculty at GUNI or DG Shipping-approved institutes.
- Mariners having Certificate of Competency (master FG and MEO Class I) and industry experience of a minimum of 10 years.
Interdisciplinary PhD programme:
A candidate who wishes to pursue inter-disciplinary research shall also be considered.

Regular (Full Time) Scholars:
Registered student who wish to pursue full time work for their Ph. D. may be permitted to work in the Centre/Department/Institution of University on full time basis. Full-time candidates will sign the attendance register maintained in the concerned Institution. Ph.D. scholars, irrespective of discipline, shall be required to train in teaching /education/pedagogy/writing related to their chosen Ph.D. subject during their doctoral period. Ph.D. scholars may also be assigned 4-6 hours per week of teaching/research assistantship for conducting tutorial or laboratory work and evaluations.
Full time Research Scholar shall be eligible for application for scheme of Research Associateship of University. -
Part Time Scholars:
Ph.D. programmes through part-time mode shall be permitted, provided all the conditions stipulated in these Regulations are fulfilled. Candidate has to submit “No Objection Certificate” from the appropriate authority in the organization where the candidate is employed, clearly stating that; (i) The candidate is permitted to pursue studies on a part-time basis. (ii) His/her official duties permit him/her to devote sufficient time for research. (iii). If required, he/she will be relieved from the duty to complete the course work.

- Upload scan copy (Good readable quality) of marksheets/certificate (Marksheets of final semester of Under graduate and Post graduate Degree and Degree certificate of Post graduate Program)
- Upload Cast Certificate/ Gold Medal Certificate/ Valid Scorecard of GATE/GPAT/NET/SLAT, if applicable.
- Pay Ph.D. Entrance Exam fee Rs. 3000/- Online
- Submit the Application.
- The last date for application is 15th June, 2024
- List of Eligible candidates for Entrance Test will be displayed on website of Ganpat University.

- Date of Entrance Test : 07/12/24, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Duration of Entrance Test : 1 Hour
- Reporting Time for Entrance Test : 15 min before commencing the Entrance Test.
- It is Computer based proctered Examination. Candidate can appear in the Examination online from anywhere OR at the Ganpat University Campus. - The format of question paper:
- The PET (Ph.D. Entrance Test_ question paper is divided into three sections: A, B, and C. All sections are equally weighted.
- Section A is compulsory, and candidate should attempt any one section from B or C sections.
- Section -A :
- Research Methodology: It is to evaluate the understanding of the candidates about research Methodology and its tools. It is based on Research Methodology components comprising 25 multiple choice questions each carrying 1 mark.
- Section-B
- Subject Specific: It is to evaluate candidate’s understanding of core subject knowledge in which candidate wishes to pursue the Ph. D. It shall be 25 marks multiple choice questions each carrying 1 mark.
- Section-C
- Subject Specific Research Statement: The objective of a research statement is to know candidate’s expertise, passion, and potential contributions to his/her professional field. The questions are designed to test the candidate’s ability to understand the knowledge in his / her area of profession / study, formulate research questions, design studies, analyze data, and disseminate findings. It typically includes candidate’s previous professional experiences, current challenges, and probable solutions through research and innovations.
- This section comprises of 2 to 4 descriptive type of questions including writing case study of their field.
- Candidate shall be admitted who qualify for fellowship/scholarship/in UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET/GATE/CEED and similar National Level Tests based on an Interview and not required to appear in entrance Test. (Proof of qualification Mandatory).

- Candidate with minimum 50% marks in the Entrance Test will be eligible for Personal Interview.
- Relaxation of 5% marks (from 50% to 45%) shall be given for SC/ST/OBC (Non creamy layer)/Differently able category/Economical Weaker Selection (EWS) – Proof of Category is Mandatory.
- Candidate shall be admitted who qualify for fellowship/scholarship/in UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET/GATE/CEED and similar National Level Tests based on an Interview and not required to appear in entrance Test. (Proof of qualification Mandatory). (Amendment can be there as per the latest UGC Guideline)
- The detail schedule for Personal Interview will be placed on Ganpat University website after declaration of Entrance Test result.
- Based on the performance in Entrance test and Personal Interview and availability of Recognised Research Supervisor (Guides) at Ganpat University, list of shortlisted candidates will be displayed on Ganpat University website.
- On payment of Requisite Fee, the candidate shall be admitted to the Ph. D. Program.
