Description

An Expert talk on the topic “Diagnosis of bacterial diseases of crops by using high throughput techniques” was organized by the Ganpat University – Faculty of Agriculture and Allied Sciences and invited speaker Dr. Dinesh  Singh, Principal Scientists (Plant Pathology), Division of Plant Pathology, ICAR-IARI New Delhi on 6th April, 2023 at 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in online mode.

In the beginning of the talk Dr. Deepak Sharma, Assistant Professor, Ganpat University – Kantaben Kashiram Institute of Agricultural Sciences and research, greeted all the participants as well as speaker. He gave transitory information about the event and express thanks to all the participants.

After that Dr. Jasmee Patel introduced Dr. Dinesh Singh to the audience and welcome her.  

Dr. Dinesh starts her talk with the welcome to audience and acknowledgements to the institute for inviting her. He first introduced the Important bacterial diseases of crops. Then he explained steps in diagnosis of bacterial plant diseases. Then she shifted toward the Symptoms of bacterial plant diseases and explained how to Isolation of bacteria from diseased plants  Key Tests in Identification of Easily Culturable Bacteria Further he explained  recent molecular techniques ( ELISA. Bio-PCR, DNA and Infrared sensor ) to diagnosis bacterial diseases. He explained improve the accuracy and speed of bacterial diseases in plants. Future of high throughput techniques useful in plant diseases management.

After her session he give response to the questions and interact with the students. So many students asked questions regarding advantages and challenges of using high throughput techniques for diagnosis bacterial diseases in plants.

The talk was ended by Vote of Thanks given by Dr. Deepak Sharma. In the talk total 70 participants including UG students, PG students, research scholar scientist and teacher scientist had taken part from all over the India.
