Applications and Use of Natural Gas in Internal Combustion Engines
Description
The Department of Automobile Engineering, UVPCE-GUNI organized a webinar entitled “Applications and Use of Natural Gas in Internal Combustion Engines”. The session was delivered by Mr. Ashwin S. Raj, Lead Engineer, Power Train Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, Chennai, India,. Mr. Ashwin is working with Mahindra & Mahindra since last 9 years. Mr. Mandeep has a rich experience working is working in the domain alternate fuel engine development. The said technical session was conducted online via Google Meet App. The entire session was coordinated by Automobile Engineering Department. Total 98 students registered for the webinar including students and faculty members. During his talk, Mr. Mandeep had briefly explained compressed natural gas (CNG) engine technology, conversion of existing petrol and diesel engines into CNG engines, combustion characteristics of CNG engine and its emissions, future perspectives of use of CNG in India etc. Many questions were asked by attendees and all the questions were briefly and satisfactorily answered by him. On the whole, the session was very informative and thought provoking and all the attendees found it highly useful.
