Academic Visit 2025 : Mundra port and Kachchh

Description
About Mundra Port
Mundra Port, operated by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), is one of the largest and most significant ports in India. It is a deep-water, all-weather port capable of handling a variety of cargo, including containers, liquid, bulk, and automobiles. The port plays a crucial role in India's international trade and logistics network.
Visit Highlights
Our visit started with a briefing session by the officials at the Mundra Port, who explained the significance and operational aspects of the port. We were taken on a guided tour covering various sections of the port, including:
- Container Terminal – We observed how goods are systematically stored, managed, and transported using cranes and automated systems.
- Bulk Cargo Handling – The process of handling bulk materials like coal, iron ore, and fertilizers was demonstrated.
- Liquid Terminal – We learned about the storage and transportation of liquid cargo, including petroleum and chemicals.
- Automobile Logistics Hub – A special area dedicated to automobile exports and imports.
- Port Security and Safety – We were given an overview of the stringent security measures in place to ensure smooth operations.
