Computerized Information Retrieval:
Library resources can be searched using the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), which supports searches by author, title, subject, and keyword. Circulation and Reference:
Circulation The libraries at Ganpat University offer circulation services, including the issuance and return of library materials. Students can borrow books for a specified period in accordance with the rules of their respective campus libraries.

Reference The reference service assists users in making the most effective use of the library’s resources and services. It helps users locate specific information or documents they need. Reference materials must be used within the library premises and are not available for loan.
Reading and Reprography Facilities:
For print materials, the library offers a Light Reading Area near the newspaper and periodical section, and a General Reading Area near the book racks for reading, referencing, and note-taking.
For digital and electronic resources, libraries provide OPAC terminals for accessing online and offline databases, as well as library-specific databases. Users can request headphones to view digital documents. The library’s Wi-Fi enables easy access to electronic and digitized resources via laptops.
Reprography Facilities Photocopying: Available as a paid service, users can copy reference materials like periodicals, reference books, and bound volumes.
Scanning: Users can request free scanning services for reference materials such as books, periodicals, and bound volumes.
Current Awareness Service:
New books and periodicals are added daily across the university. The libraries distribute lists of new arrivals to users to keep them informed about the latest additions. News related to events at Ganpat University’s constituent institutes is covered by various media outlets and published in newspapers. These clippings are collected, sent to the relevant authorities, and digitized for reference purposes.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL):
Resources (books and articles) which are not available in Ganpat University libraries may be obtained using our Interlibrary Loans Service. This service can be used for getting books and photocopies of journal articles. This service is available to faculty members and students of Ganpat University. For making an ILL request, the users have to check the OPAC first to confirm that the resource they want is not available in the library collection. The requests are usually sent to the Developing Library Network (DELNET), New Delhi. The AICTE and DELNET (Developing Library Network) have signed an MOU to get libraries of technical Institutes/University Departments as approved by AICTE networked DELNET. All the AICTE approved technical institutions will be connected by the Network and would be able to share all resources this way the students and faculty members will get the necessary information from all technical institutions. An institutional member of AICTE-DELNET MOU will get many benefits like Reference Services, Interlibrary Loan, Document Delivery Services, Technology transfer, Institutional Promotion through Internet. It provides access to more than one million documents, books, journals, articles, CD-ROMs, Video-Recordings, Sound Recordings, etc. with location data, and maintains efficient document delivery service. It normally takes one week to receive the resource at the Library and then the requester can collect the same on intimation from the Library.
Library Education:
During the institute's induction programs, an orientation session is conducted to familiarize students and faculty with the library. New members of Ganpat University are introduced to various library resources and services, including the rules for accessing print resources, user categories, and guidelines for using print and digital resources both on-campus and off-campus. This session emphasizes the value of library resources as new entrants embark on their professional journeys. The Library Resource Centre serves as a productive space where the knowledge acquired in the classroom is further enhanced through library resources. Additionally, database training is scheduled to ensure effective use of subscribed resources. Participants are also informed about various library activities during this session to encourage their involvement in upcoming events.
Plagiarism checking service:
The library offers a valuable resource for detecting plagiarism by providing access to software like Turnitin. This tool allows students and faculty to check their work against a vast database of academic papers, publications, and web content to ensure originality. Turnitin is widely recognized for its ability to identify similarities and potential plagiarism, making it an essential tool in academic integrity. With this facility available, users can maintain high standards of academic honesty while enhancing the quality of their work through careful citation and content originality.
