Today, NSDC International Ltd, a Special Purpose Entity of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India has signed an agreement with Ganpat University in Gujarat.


NSDC International Ltd is primarily engaged in International Collaborations including International Workforce Mobility for skilled and certified talent from India to other countries as also to provide International Advisory services. 


Ganpat University is a multidisciplinary University established as a private university by Govt of Gujarat. Besides offering Diplomas, Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research programs in various domains, it is a pioneer in offering skill development programs. It is the first university in the state which established a full Faculty of Skill Development right after the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the Skill India initiative. It is worthwhile to note that India’s first Japan India Institute for Manufacturing is operational at Ganpat University in active association with Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. and Govt of Japan. 

Sensing the tide of transformation and a marked shift in the expectations of the current employment sector, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Ganpat University signed an MoU with an objective to conceptualise, design and run certificate programs that are in keeping with market requirements. The purpose of this MoU is to carry out joint activities, mainly of an international level. Ganpat University and NSDC will work together to cater to the workforce requirements of various industries and sectors across the world. 

In what is considered to be a chief move to encourage and support entrepreneurship of Ganpat University, The MoU Signing ceremony held on 4 June, 2022 witnessed the august presence of dignitaries. Among them were Padma Shri Dr. Ganpat Patel, President  & Patron-in-Chief (Joining Online), Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, Chief Operating Officer and Officiating CEO, National Skill Development Cell, Ms. Parul Mahajan, Head, Government Relations and Advocacy NSDC, Prof. (Dr.) Mahendra Sharma, Pro-Chancellor & Director General Ganpat University, Dr. Amit Patel, Pro Vice-Chancellor & Executive Registrar, Ganpat University, Dr. Rajen Purohit, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor, Ganpat University, Dr. Prakash Patel, Health Skill Development, Ganpat University, Trustees Shri Jayantibhai Patel and Sombhai Rayaka have also graced the occasion. 

The ceremony commenced with the auspicious words by Brijesh Merja, Minister of State, Labour Skill Development and Employment. Praising this valued collaboration to develop unskilled and semi-skilled manpower into productive workforce, He congratulated Ganpat University and NSDC for this promising endeavour.


The Minister of State for Skill Development, Govt of Gujarat Shri Brijesh Merja, who was to attend this MoU signing ceremony sent his best wishes mentioning Ganpat University’s initiatives in skill development. 


Ganpat University’s President and Patron-in-Chief Dr Ganpat Patel said that ‘Ganpat University is a different kind of university. Being “out of box”  thinkers we have always walked on unpaved roads and created lots of opportunities for students, industries and contributed a lot in the nation's Development. Today we are inking this MoU as a leader to establish something concrete and meaningful. Ganpat University and NSDC will become great partners. He applauded Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Make In India and Atma Nirbbhar Bharat because Modiji has always believed that India possesses the highest number of young brains and entrepreneurs, an asset that no country has. 


Followed by the MoU Signing ceremony, chief-guest of the ceremony, Mr. Ved Mani Tiwari delivered a hearty address. He added that we have signed MoUs with many institutions but this is the only Heart-to-Heart agreement we have  signed with Ganpat University today. Mr Tiwari further stated that ‘Technology is rapidly changing across the world, the Unipolar world has now become a Multipolar world. The Geopolitical order has been significantly changed. He mentioned that the vision of Dr Mahendra Sharma about Certivarsity will come out to be path-breaking. Mr Tiwari said that the Ganpat University will become an important partner for Govt of India’s Skill India Digital Platform wherein Ganpat University will become an awarding partner. He also expressed desire to create a Virtual Incubator with Ganpat University to help Startup and Entrepreneurship as also to help Startups and innovators to validate their ideas by reaching out to a larger pool of skilled  candidates of NSDC. In an address brimming with energy, he urged the youth to make the skills their passion. He also appreciated Ganpat Dada’s zeal in building this high-tech campus. 


Prof. (Dr.) Mahendra Sharma presented a statement of gratitude to all the trusties, founders, Members of the Board of Governance, Finance Committee, Academic Council, as well as all the past and present officials of the Govt. of Gujarat and Govt. of India. He made a point saying that ‘India is not just a labour market for the world. We have great talent for the white colour jobs in emerging technologies also. With this foundation, we would like to contribute significantly to make India the Skill Development Capital of the World. And together with NSDC International, we will make it. He hailed this moment to be an important achievement of GNU and NSDC. He shone light on the various skill development initiatives currently run by Ganpat University, including sectors such as Automobile, Manufacturing and Healthcare. According to him The MoUs with IL & FS, Bosch Rexroth, Shelby and Zydus, give a solid testimony to GUNI’s efforts in the direction.


On 27th last month, Mr Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt of India visited Ganpat University and discussed various possibilities wherein Ganpat University and the Ministry can work together. 


On this occasion, from NSDC, Ms Parul Mahajan, Head of Govt. Advocacy & International Relations, Mr Rakesh Kumar, State Engagement Coordinator for Gujarat and Mr Uday Shroff remained present. While from Ganpat University, BoG member Shri J S Patel, Member of the Trust Shri Sombhai Rayka, Pro VC & Executive Registrar Dr Amit Patel, Dy. Pro VCs Dr Rajen Purohit and Dr Kiran Amin, Jt. Registrar Dr Girish Patel, Head of Skill Development Programs Dr P R Patel, Dean of Incubation Centre Dr Saurabh Dave and other senior officials were present.
