World Environment Day
Description
Ganpat University Faculty of Agriculture and Allied Sciences organized “Tree Plantation Drive” and “Seed-Ball distribution campaign”. On this occasion, Range Forest Officer (I/C) Mehsana Division- Shri Bhavesh Solanki, Vanpal Shri Pramodbhai Goswami and Van Rakshak Shri Ashokbhai were remained present and addressed the students on “Importance of World Environment Day”. Dr Maurvi Vasavada, Dean of Faculty of Agriculture and Allied Sciences, MR Ashvinbhai Patel, the farm manager of the department, Dr Rameshbhai Patel, Principal Scientisit, KVK Ganpat Vidyanagar campus, faculty members and students planted the trees on the day and committed to plant 1100 more trees in the campus as part of Sustainability goals.
The students of B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture prepared the seed balls using seeds of Prosopis cineraria (Khijadi), Albizia lebbeek (Sirish), Cassia fistula (Golden Shower) and Tamarindus Indica (Tamarind) Moringa oleiferaok (Drumstick) plants and compost soil to enhance the green cover in the barren land of community under the guidance of faculty team of GUNI-KKIASR.
