Inauguration of Ganpat University ACM Student Chapter
Description
To develop the personality of the young students as well as their technical skills,Ganpat University organized the inauguration of the ACM Student Chapter on 15th November 2022. With 15 student members and 3 professional members of ACM, Ganpat University has established an ACM Student Chapter with a formal approval from the ACM headquarter, USA. It is the 6th ACM student chapter in
Gujarat. The ceremony began with a welcome address by Dr. Satyen Parikh, Deputy pro-vice chancellor of Ganpat University. ACM Women India Council Chair, Dr. Heena Timani provided information
about ACM Student Chapter. She also said that the main goal of ACM is to “network with people and learn more about emerging technologies”. ACM, the world's largest educational and scientific computing society, delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession. It has 800 student chapters across the world. Through this collaboration, GUNI students establish
network with foreign students and get the opportunity to join one or more of ACM's Special Interest Groups in 37 specialty areas of IT. Students can participate in different global conferences and competitions, and win prizes and awards, opportunity to get knowledge through resource experts, online courses, certification courses. The research scholar can get the fund for research work,
access to digital library, participate in expert talk on research topics. The faculty members who are part of this ACM chapter will get the benefit for getting innovative way of teaching subjects. ACM-W aims to provide social and professional support for women empowerment in computing. After that, Chairman of Ahmedabad Professional Chapter Mr. Bhaumik Shah shared motivational thoughts. He emphasised that “Motivation is nothing but life experience”, “Motivation is the way to achieve your goals or needs”. The Patron in Chief and President of Ganpat University, Dr. Ganpatbhai Patel
inspired the students about the values of life. He talked about two rules; “Be a good person, study hard and become an expert in your subject.” He also discussed about ACM code of conduct and how that can add value to the holistic development of Ganpat University. Shri. Ganpatbhai Patel also shared his example of being involved in such technical chapters that contributed a lot in his life. He inspired students to be a part of such chapters and networking community. Along with this, Pro-Chancellor & Director General of Ganpat University Dr. Mahendra Sharma, Pro vice chancellor and Executive Registrar, Dr. Amit Patel, Pro vice chancellor, Dr. R. K. Patel, Deputy pro vice chancellor and Executive Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Kiran Amin and Deputy pro
vice chancellor Dr. Rajen Purohit attended and encouraged the students. Dr. Nirbhay Chaubey, Dean, Faculty of Computer Applications, Ganpat University proposed a vote of thanks and motivated students to take benefits from ACM student chapter. Dr. Meghna Patel coordinated the event and facilitated students with the fruits of ACM student chapter.
