Description
An Expert talk on the topic “Extension System for Sustainable Agriculture Development” was organized by the Ganpat University – Faculty of Agriculture and Allied Sciences and invited speaker Dr. B. L. Manjunatha, Scientist Senior Scale (Agricultural Extension), Division of Transfer of Technology and Training, ICAR-Central Arid Zone Research Institute (CAZRI), Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India, on 8th May, 2023 at 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in online mode.
In the beginning of the talk Dr. Deepak Sharma, Assistant Professor, Ganpat University – Kantaben Kashiram Institute of Agricultural Sciences and research, greeted all the participants as well as speaker. He gave transitory information about the event and express thanks to all the participants.
After that Dr. Kishan Mashaliya, Assistant Professor, Ganpat University – Kantaben Kashiram Institute of Agricultural Sciences and research introduced Dr. B. L. Manjunatha to the audience and welcome him.
Dr. B. L. Manjunatha starts his talk with the welcome to audience and acknowledgements to the institute for inviting him. He first introduced the Important of Extension, Extension Education, Agriculture Extension. Then he explained key terminologies of agricultural extension. Then he shifted toward extension model like public sector, NARES, Cooperatives, private sector, framer’s organizations, NGOs, Donor driven extension, media, ICT, social media driven extension, functions of ICAR, Extension research project like farmer FIRST, ARYA, FPOs, SHGs and Transfer of Technology approaches like ATIC, Kisan Melas, Sangosthis, MGMGI, KVK, Kisan Mitras, m-Kisan, Agri- Business Incubation Unit (ABI).
After him session he gives response to the questions and interact with the students. So many students asked questions regarding advantages and challenges of using different strategies in agriculture extension system for sustainable development.
The talk was ended by Vote of Thanks given by Dr. Deepak Sharma. In the talk total 80 participants including UG students, PG students, research scholar, scientist and teachers had taken part from all over the India.
