Cyber Security Club
Description
Club’s Objective: It is a student and faculty-run club with the goal of providing outside-of class activities relevant to the industry under the guidance of Dr. Ajay Patel, Prof. Amit Suthar. This opportunity provided hands-on experience in combating real-life cyber threats. Our goal is to expand our knowledge of cybersecurity and information security through hands-on experience and direct interaction with professionals in the field. No prior experience is required to participate. As our reliance on smartphones has increased, mobile applications have become an integral part of our daily lives. However, the majority of people do not know how secure their gadgets really are. “84% of mobile app consumers believe their mobile health and finance apps are appropriately secure” according to a recent survey on the state of application security. One method to mitigate this risk is to ensure that mobile applications have been thoroughly pen tested for security flaws. While penetration testing might provide some confidence, hacking into mobile applications requires a different approach and setup than getting into web applications. The students have learnt about mobile app pen testing throughout this programme. Android App Pentesting Overview, Static Analysis (Bypass client-side checks), Dynamic Analysis, and Lab Setup are among the topics addressed in this online workshop. The event began at 10:00 a.m. on January 1, 2022 and ended at 12:00 p.m. on the same day.
