POWER SYSTEM & PROTECTION

This laboratory experiments are core electrical engineering practices. The laboratory has facility of research and study on many important concept like Protection of apparatus, transmission line physical modeling and its protection, Ferranti effects, series and shunt compensation.

MAIN EQUIPMENTS

1. Transmission Line protection test penal

230V, 50 Hz - AC Supply, PI model with compensation with variable capacitor and inductor, Distance and over current module included

2. Induction motor Protection test penal

3 Phase AC Supply with 5 HP Induction motor with temperature and encoder sensor. Negative sequence, Over current/ Earth fault protection, Reverse power protection etc.

3. Generator Protection test Penal (Semi Numeric)

3 Phase,1500 RPM, synchronous generator with VFD drive

4. Transformer Protection test penal (Numeric type)

415 V, 3 phase , Delta Start Transformer with Numerical differential Relay and CT and PT

5. IDMT relay test set up

1 phase AC current injector with electromechanical IDMT relay

6. Microcontroller based numerical IDMT test set up

Computer based configurable IDMT and DTC relays
